Arch is a monochrome image of Hexham Bridge, captured in the autumn of 2023.
On the outskirts of Hexham there is a wonderful country park called Tyne Green. It runs from the grand sandstone Hexham Bridge westwards, along the south bank of the mighty Tyne. There is a grand avenue of trees, a golf club, a play park, and a rowing club. But a favourite spot is down by the old bridge in the right conditions, when the water can be so still just before it rattles through the arches and over the weir, that it’s almost glass-like, pausing for a moment before it rushes on its way.
