Nook was captured in a corner of woodland slightly off the beaten path at Allenbanks - a National Trust site not far from the River South Tyne in Northumberland.

The combination of rusty autumn bracken, yellowing leaves and the cracked silver tree bark had caught the eye on a previous visit, but it was in October 2021 that all the elements came together and the weather chose to play ball also.
