The Lingholm Islands sit just off the western shore of Derwentwater, and are named after the Lingholm Estate which is just between Portinscale and Catbells and is one of the most wonderful places to visit in the whole of the Lake District. This is mainly due to the sourdough sausage sandwiches and carrot cake served at the Lingholm Kitchen, but is partly also because of the wonderful views from the Estate.

Soft was captured on a winter morning as a thick and lingering mist started to burn off the Derwentwater as the sun rose. A beautiful framed giclee print of Soft hangs in the Lingholm Kitchen.
