Heavy snow brings such a distinct feeling and atmosphere. It goes beyond the colour and the temperature, and the roads closing and the steamy breath. When it’s really heavy, it deadens sound. And when everything is muted somewhat, we listen harder. Our senses are turned up to eleven. Yes, standard scenes are made beautiful, ugly trees become pretty and fragile, but we also feel more, and see more, and are more atuned to what is around us. The world becomes heightened. Stylised, even. And two people walking in the woods gains new meaning.
